    Rear Wiper

    Hello All,
Is there a common fault on the rear wipers for the octavias? Will be looking at a vrs soon which has just developed a rear wiper issue...

    Thanks in advance

    Graham.

Hello Pedro. Well, I didn't actually buy that car in the end but bought a different one. That also developed a rear wiper problem. I replaced it but after a few month's, the new motor developed the same symptoms as yours. I got in touch with the company I purchased it from and they wanted the motor sent back to them, which was in Germany. I didn't bother sending it back though. After a while it got worse! I decided to strip the motor because it seemed like it was a bad connection. Anyway, to cut a long story short 😂. On stripping the motor I found some of the electrical connections on the circuit board had been covered with laquer. I scraped there area which looked like a problem. Reassembled it all and tried. Since then it has behaved, thankfully. Older motors do leak internally to. There is a seal they can break which can then fill the motor with fluid. My old motor had this fault. Good luck! 👍

You don't say how old your vrs is, but there was a problem with a faulty batch of Yeti rear wipers. They were replaced without question by the dealers who kept some in stock.

ALL VAG cars with rear wipers that have an integral, shaft delivered, water jet feed are a joke made by Valeo in all the ones I have seen. Next time you are out, play “spot the working A3 rear wiper”, yes I know I am sad. Look out for series two i.e. 8P models and have a look at their rear wiper. Most will be stuck up at an odd angle, drooping down off the glass bottom edge or missing altogether, just the tell tail stump left to fill the hole, those that work will invariably be new.....

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.
