Rear offside door - central-locking and electric window not working

There does not appear to be a fuse for these components together - can anyone help with possible explanation - all other doors c/locking and electric windows fine

    Thanks

PS I should perhaps say that the electric window cannot be opened and the rear offside door cannot be locked. I have to emergency manually lock the door.

It is controlled by the central convenience unit behind the glovebox but the Octavia 2 is prone to broken wires in the door to pillar conduit.

Thanks - I will see if I can assess the wiring somehow between door and pillar. I presume that the type of fault on both systems suggests that this is a wear and tear issue rather than two system failure. Thanks

The Yeti up to around 2013 is also prone to door loom failure due to a poor design, after this the design was modified. When a loom passes between a door and pillar the ends should be at different heights so the wire is encouraged to rotate as it opens and closes. The design used has the ends level which makes the wires fold when the door opens and closes. My door loom failed. You can check by pulling the rubber gaiter back to expose the wires. Other cars in the VAG range had the same problem. Pic 1 broken wires, 2 loom removed, 3 modified gaiter.

Thanks - that's brilliant. I'll check there first. Guess that replacing the loom is not a 5 minute job. Thanks again

So the door will not open, i.e. the central locking has failed in the locked position? Is the other door that works in the child lock position? If it is it is likely the other one was and this is a nightmare to get around. If repeated pushing, thumping and general swearing at the door does not help you have to get the door card off in situ which is not easy to do without breaking it and then get the window down by removing the motor and manually winding down the window until you can access the plastic roll pin through the inspection hole, then pull the window up and jam in place with plastic wedges and then the worst bit, try and get the assembly carrier off after drilling out the seven rivet heads with a 10mm drill BUT only the heads, not all the way through and knock out the centre pins first. BE AWARE that anything you shove through from this side can pip the panel on the outside. After all this you then have to attack the door lock unit from behind and take great care again not to pip the outer skin. It is a sketch of a job that can take four hours to just get the door open.

Hi Thanks for your response. No, the rear door will not lock with central locking - at the mom have to use emergency key method to lock it. I will check the status of the wiring between door and pillar and see if the wiring has failed there. Not much else that I can do at the moment as my wife has car. Thanks for input.

When my drivers door loom failed I had to use the key to lock/unlock the drivers door. I was unaware of any key operated lock on the rear door, or do you mean the switch on the centre consul?

Hi If the central locking isn't working for a rear door there is a plastic bung on the edge of the rear door adjacent to the lock mechanism - if removed it is possible to manually lock that door by pushing the ignition key through the hole and it clicks, and permanently locks that door. Details are in the owners manual. A bit of a pain but better than door being permanently unlocked.
