    4 cylinder v. 3cylinder

Please tell me I'm not alone in finding the three cylinder 1litre tsi 110bhp engine a let down after the 1.2 tsi 110 bhp unit. Not as refined and yes it may have an extra 25 lb ft of torque but higher up the rev range so flexibility suffers-considerably. All in all a retrograde step I'm afraid. Comments please!

Yes they are bloody awful and will be a reliability nightmare in a few years but they appease people like Chris Packham and tick a couple of EU boxes to shut the Greens up until 640 volt cars become mainstream and run people over in Sainsbury’s car park because they are silent, explode when a little water gets inside the battery pack and IF they are lucky, make it to ten years old where the £8K battery falls over and does the dying fly where a decade old car ends up in the scrap yard and its explosive, poisonous mind altering mineral metal battery gets fly tipped into a water table near you and the next environmental scandal begins... We have micro plastic particles in our environment because some green twinkle decided a billion particles of bio degradable plastic bag was more aesthetically pleasing than one big plastic bag... knobs!

    Vile Invention

Dark was that day when Diesel conceived his grim engine that begot you, vile invention, more vicious, more criminal than the camera even, metallic monstrosity, bale and bane of our culture, chief woe of our Commonweal. How dare the Law prohibit hashish and heroin yet license your use, who inflate all weak inferior egos? Their addicts only do harm to their own lives: you poison the lungs of the innocent, your din dithers the peaceful, and on choked roads hundreds must daily die by chance-medley. Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

Crasher is actually a skilled mechanic, so if you concentrate on his first line which was "Yes they are bloody awful and will be a reliability nightmare in a few years " and take the rest with a pinch of salt there is an honest knowledgeable answer.
