Rear window wiper won't turn off.

    Hi all,

My rear window wiper keeps automatically coming on, even on a dry day. Its that bad that I've had to take the fuse out. Its definitely in the off position.

Found in my research that they have a lot of issues with the motor, but just wanted to check whether this sounded like the fault here, as the wiper does actually work and isn't stuck in position like a lot seem to be.

    Thanks in advance.

It could be the body control module or the internal parking position track being contaminated so is it going constantly or intermittently?

Hi Crasher, thanks for the response.

Its a bit of both really. Sometimes its fine and as it should be, but I'd say 90% of the time it will just keep wiping and wiping, even when dry. It was bad enough that I had to take the fuse out.

    Thanks

That should be an internal motor fault. Interestingly I have never changed an Octavia 1 rear wiper motor but with the Octavia 2 they went to the through the spindle water feed style by Valeo and it was all down hill from there.
