Hi

2002 Octavia Mk1 1.9TDi Estate. Front Passenger door will not unlock. I have tried with fob, key(drivers door) and door lock switch. The button remains down.
If I pull the inner handle the button comes up but straight down again.
I have bashed door from inside and out.
I have squirted WD40 through handle and down from window.
Other things I have noticed:
Alarm light (drivers door) does not flash
Interior light comes on momentarily on unlock but goes out. If the fob is pressed again the light comes on as per expected.

Any clues? need an MOT and cant pass without a door that can open!

Cheers

I had all sorts of problems with my Yeti when the door loom failed due to a design fault. Does the bellows between the door and the A pillar look like the one in the first picture below? The rubber bellows goes across the gap in straight line. The second picture shows the broken wires, the third the modified door to a pillar bellows which have a "droop". The part was £105 plus an hours labour and is the same as the first picture apart from the bellows which are now as in picture 3.

You have to remove the door card (very difficult to do without damage) and then attack the back of the lock unit.
