Radio electrical problem

Hi everyone.

My radio stopped powering on so I replaced the fuse which is located near the engine. It worked again but only until I turned the car off. I tried replacing the fuse again but found out that it wasn't blowing the fuses. Even the first one was fine. Merely taking the fuse out and putting it back in temporarily restores the power.

Would anybody have any ideas what the problem is here?

My car is a 2006 Skoda Octavia.

That sounds like a software issue in the head unit.

I had a problem where my reversing sensors stopped working and so did the radio a couple of days later. I disconnected the battery for a minute then reconnected and all has been well since. Cutting and restoring the power made the radio go through a power on self-test (POST). It was easier to disconnect the battery than find the correct fuse and all I had to do afterwards was set the clock as the radio code is held in the ecu. If you try and it doesn't work for you all it will have cost is a couple of minutes of your time.
